*Mr. President, Mr. Attorney General: Hands Off Edward Snowden! *
The U.S. government should make an ironclad commitment to fully respect Edward Snowden's legal rights to seek political asylum, and to not engage in abduction or other foul play.

I have signed this, more than once and do love the idea. Though my realistic take on things are that this will not happen. Snowden might be allowed back to the US, but only to serve time in prison. He broke the golden rule, thou shalt not embarrass the government.

Signed and noted. Thank you. Edward Snowden is a hero and true patriot. The real treasonous acts appear to be the government. Very shameful.

Thank you for asking the Secretary of State to reinstate Edward Snowden's passport. We can see the sorry state this Country is in by many factors. The treatment of this man being one of them.

Sorry folks, this man is a traitor who doesn't even have the personal ethic of honoring his oaths. The Russians also granted him temporary asylum based on his promise of no further releases. he's abrogated that oath as well. Fast forward to Sochi where we just proved that he has also given the Russians the data needed to listen in to others cell conversations. I look forward to the day he is forced to face his just due and decades in prison. You folks have some very weird ideas about what constitutes treason. think about all in uniform who have died so you can put your misconceptions and lies out there -geez!

Many today in the world do things that are bad and then justify their actions with the "good results". but the end ever justify the means. I believe we should respect both the means and the end. I'm not even certain we can agree that anything good has come from the exercise. Therefore, I have to agree with John Gregoire.

I'm so glad there's a Mr. Snowden on earth! It's really good to know that some people still have the courage to face danger and are whistleblowers! Thanks, well done, Mr. Snowden! We need more of you!
John S @ I' m not sure the US-government in this case was serving the democracy (like in so many other cases as well), so I'm glad Snowden gave us a little bit more transparency in this jungle-mess...

Well, one must disagree with John G's claims and I do. Snowden has not abrogated any "oath" or promise he alledgedly made to Russian authorities. He has NOT released any further documents, news, whatever, as all that had already been passed on to the media by then, he is IN NO POSSESSION of anything any longer.
Perhaps first look at Mr Clapper, the lier who is the real one to prosecute! John, i really think you have some quite wrong ideas about the tech and other capabilities of the Russians, underestimating them by far. Probably fell for some propaganda media.

Donald, hier geht es darum, zu zeigen, dass eine breite masse Amerikaner dies und GEGEN die bisherige Auffassung der Regierung steht!
Point being, to SHOW govt and DOJ that a huge number, perhaps the majority of Americans oppose the govt's stand on this and consider Snowden to have a full right to ask asylum where he chooses to do so and to let him go where he is welcome or accepted.

This is one I won't sign. I don't want any US pardon for Snowden and I surely don't want him to be given a Passport. It would be a lie, bait for a ruse to get him close enough to kill him. Right now he's alive and a genuine hero to the people of the world. If he's given a US passport that will encourage him to use it (though I believe he's too smart for that trap). If he uses it they'll track him and kill him as soon as he get's off the plane or they'll simply destroy the plane in the air, blame it on terrorists and kill him that way. Mr. Snowden, don't take the bait, stay where you are, the whole world thinks very highly of you bordering on Love. We rarely get any true hero's to look up to these days and we don't want you murdered.

Snowden is a traitor to his people, his country and the Government. He should receive the maximum punishment commonly reserved for traitors - death by military firing squad and burial in an unmarked grave.
He had a position of trust and took full advantage of that position in the hope of making himself a lot of money by selling information. He failed in that venture and should now face judgement for his treacherous and criminal behaviour.

I have always had mixed feelings about Snowden, but have put a lot of thought into this and signed the petition.
