The City of Beverly Hills, CA is trying to put a 65 Year Old in Jail for feeding Stray Cats. This is a pivotal case that could reverberate for or against feral cats and T/N/R programs by governments in the US and the world.

I'm guessing they wont put her in jail, obviously they are using her as an example since they don't have footage of an animal hoarder doing this... If she can show she does spay and neuter the strays,I don't think they will fine her either. If anything she's doing her part to reduce the population. Perhaps the city of Beverly Hills could do a program on wheels to help out, where other folks can't. I'm curious to see the outcome.

This is just insane. I have reported numerous drug dealers in my neighborhood and the police laugh. Gee maybe I should turn in the dealers for feeding cats!

Beverly hills might be the home of the rich, but they have no soul, no compassion.

When mankind is more intent upon killing than saving a life, then we are doomed as a species. Do we really think that with values like this we can evolve? I think not. LA law officials have always been a maverick lot - just check out the history of total corruption at various points in time. Methinks the citizens of LA prefer it, else why would this killing spree contintue? Vote the sods out of office - from the top down.

Well this is insane, but California Assembly Committee pasted SB 250 on July 1st,despite receiving over 7,500 of your emails urging them to oppose the bill. The bill now moves to the Committee on Appropriations.

Last week, we asked concerned California residents like you to take action against this bill because it targets cats owned by lower-income owners and cared for by feral cat caregivers. And you did. Assemblymembers reported receiving thousands of your emails, but the committee still passed the bill, on a straight party-line vote.

S.B. 250 is not the law, and there will be several more opportunities for you to urge legislators to stop the bill. Alley Cat Allies will continue to fight for the interests of cats, and we will let you know when to take further action to oppose this bill.

This is so outrageous, this lady is caring for these cats and providing a service to the community. As she adopts a TNR policy, this reduces population, which will reduce the number of unwanted kittens having to be euthanised. I think the Beverley Hills Authorities, should give her a premises and a monetary grant to help this admirable lady continue her loving and caring work.
