Thanks Raffi, for the site and info. I am so paranoid about my dog, whom we rescued from the local shelter, that the first chance possible we got the chip put in him. When I heard that the outfit that put the chip in had a falling out with the chip company, I called the AKC number I saw in the newspaper. For a small $5. donation to a shelter they reregistered the chip and gave me a second tag with the same number but it's in an additional data bank in case he "wanders" off.

That's a great site with important info.! I micro-chip all my animals. If lost they are scanned at shelters and vets with my info. But these tips are great!
