Reward Offered To Find Kitten Killer
Animals Suffered 'Horrific Death,' El Dorado County Official Says

PLACERVILLE, Calif. --
A $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to whoever tortured and beat two kittens to death, officials said Tuesday.

The animals were found dead last Wednesday in front of the El Dorado County Animal Services Shelter on Placerville Drive.

"It is appalling and distressing that these kittens had to suffer such a horrific death," said Lt. Warren Candler, supervising Animal Services officer, in a statement. "We are concerned about the seriousness of this crime against animals and are actively collecting evidence."

A veterinarian examined the kittens shortly after they were found. They were about four months old and appeared to have been restrained, tortured and beaten to death.

Candler said the bodies of the kittens were left in a small box just a few hours before the first employees arrived for the day.

News of the case has stunned people.

"Oh my word, that's terrible," said resident Haley Applegarth.

The Humane Society of the United States is offering the money to help find those responsible.

I am heartsick. This is such a disturbed person or people that are even capable of this. Sooooooooo sad.

The cruelty against the vulnerable is rising. It's very scary. Anyone who would hurt an innocent animal is the predator we all should fear..It walks upright and is called human.. So sad. Poor little babies.

Perhaps this is the work of one of the trolls that inhabit Care2. It appears to be a diliberate taunt to animal welfare and there next move will likely be worse, if they are not caught. Maybe a baby dumped dead outside ER!

This reminds me of the deliberate way the cats in Miami were posed outside the homes -arrogantly and challenging the mental ability of the person that found their animal to a psychological duel.

Those kittens were infants. How can anyone hurt something so gentle and innocent? Those responsible must be caught at any cost. No matter what. RIP dear kittens.

Chris..
I bet you are right. There are enough trolls on this website these days. Taunting animal lovers is almost as much fun to them as torturing and killing an animal.
