I was at the pharmacy the other day and saw a customer bring in washed labels removed orange prescriptoion bottle to get their precriptions refilled. Hmm that's a good idea. Then my husband went to churchj and someone there said the local humane Society needed bottle for prescriptions fot the animals and was collecting them another good idea. So what other things might be possible I thought and thought ask your care2 buddies I bet they have lots of ideas or maybe some were wondering the same as me. So I posted this aticle. What do you have to add my friends.

Hey Peace, my sis and I have been using these little orange bottles for ages now and for just about anything and everything, lol. Saving pennies, little nails, stick pins, buttons, paper clips, they can even hold small bandaids, you think of it, and you'll be sure to come up with lots more. I bet if I were to ask my sis, she could riddle off a whole lot more to me, lol. Thanks, this was fun. Hugs~~sherie

good idea as long as you wash it out so the other medicine residue will not be on it looking out for my puppies, kittens

I am going to use mine for my art class. small quantities of paints need to be stored and those are the perfect size for them!

Recently we've been given bottles that blue or purple - rather pretty. I keep thinking about gluing them together to make a lampshade or light cover. I do love any idea for recycling them!

I reuse them for all sorts of things, but I also take them back to the pharmacy and have my refills put into the original bottle, over and over. I've read the paperwork and put it back, so they just keep tucking the raggedy paperwork back under the middle of the label and refilling the same bottle.

I wish they would make them recyclable or put a fee on them so more people would reuse them for refills at least when they can. I changed all sorts of products to get to recyclable containers or eco-friendly ones (concentrated, reusable, etc) but they have us pretty ham-strung when it comes to meds most of the time.

I have used them for all sorts of things also, from storing small tacks, bolts, nuts, etc. Honestly I did not realize that they were not recyclable. I mark my labels out with a permanent marker, shred the mounds of patient instructions for recycle, and put the bottles in also. I was not told there could not be recycled on my paperwork from the city when I began their recycle program here, thus I have always put them in the bag with my other plastics etc. Guess I should check up and do something else. I shall see if I can take mine back to the pharmacy for refills, or it my vet could use them. Thanks for the information.

Actually I just pulled some of mine out and they do have the recycle emblem on them. My understanding is that the symbol they carry means that I can put them in my plastic recycle bags. I guess to make sure I will ask the water dept who takes care of this in our town next time I am in to make sure I am correct in my thinking.

I just did some research and found a couple of great ideas, even one for kids like at church or school making snowmen out of them. With the upcoming holidays, that would be a great quick craft for children and not expensive. Here is one URL with the information:

This one is cute for Valentine's Day for adults:

I also read a good one. One gentleman said he took his, cleaned them, took the labels off, and for people he knew he made decorated pill holders for them to carry in their pocket or purse. He used ribbon, material, old scraps of yarn, anything pretty, and decorated the outside of the bottle to make a pretty pill holder. That might be also a quick project for your friends or family if you know someone who carries medications with them.

I also keep the straight razor blades in one. The blades that you use for scraping, like paint off of windows etc. It makes a great safe storage bottle for those. Gosh for those who sew, I can see beads, buttons, glitter, or all kinds of small craft items that are small being put in them.

Okay, I have put in my "2" cents enough... it just hit me about how many things we can do with them.
