When US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visited Delhi in July this year, India said thank you for lifting sanctions by assuring usa a deal to set up two nuclear power plants... India wants to expand its nuclear power by 15 times...

Yes, I remember now, Bush gave sanctions (lifted them) away in return for some fruit. Now we're funding this too? I know why they want it, but where is the oversight to ensure safety of the plant operations and safety in transporting and disposing of the waste? And how do we ensure the waste isn't used in small dirty bombs? What a Pandora's box full of dog mess. Sheesh.

I expect the US had a hard time making that deal. Originally the people wanted to go with one from Russia which would have involved four reactors versus only a single reactor from the US. This deal I believe is tied to arms sales.
With the ongoing state of affairs re: armed forces shooting up the neighbourhood whipping up tension is good business : plus Pakistan and India and China have been hostile for years.
It likely throws a spanner into green initiatives for power generation too - which would be something oil interests would support.
NPT celebrations for the Nobel Prize anyone ? Let's ask Ahmadinejad for a quip !

So what? The pic you have used contains reference to Muslims, shall I presume you are saying its them we have to worry about?? Surely not because it should be obvious which continent is the main problem on the war and weapons scene.

No Elderberry, the picture I choose, was NOT INTENTED TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. That's the joke.

While greedy corporations are after resources that are located in the Middle East and Central Asia, the excuse given is "fighting Muslim radicalism', "bringing Democracy", blah blah. Open-minded people know this, and also know that there are good and less good people in every religion, group, family, etc.
But the "Muslim Scare" in the Western World is outrageous, and I am ridiculing it with this picture of Bush. No pun intented.

I was wondering when I choose the pic if anyone would make this observation, because I know how it is when a entire group gets critisized for stuff for which the entire group is NOT responsible for. It does make people edgy.

The trick here is not to let anger consume one's heart with hatred, otherwise the person becomes just as closed-minded as the radical loony fanatic freeks whom seem to be everywhere.

Mr. Ralph Sutton, here on care2, has a wonderful hilarious video on religion.

I can really relate, because that is how I feel living here, my sentiments exactly.

If you want to watch, it is really very amusing, and basically, true:

I do not intend on offending anyone.

Oh brother! I just had a ton of things written and ruined them by not saving them, arghhh! Anyway, all the pic did was inspire me to look up some info on India;

"Over 800 million Indians (80.5%) are Hindu. Other religious groups include Muslims (13.4%), Christians (2.3%), Sikhs (1.9%), Buddhists (0.8%), Jains (0.4%), Jews, Zoroastrians, Bahá'ís and others.[127] Tribals constitute 8.1% of the population.[128] India has the third-highest Muslim population in the world and has the highest population of Muslims for a non-Muslim majority country."

Nuclear never good! Here is some info in case anyone wants to see and notice how long the waste lasts;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radioactive_waste

Don't forget Chernobly;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster

And 3 mile Island;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Mile_Island_accident

Here are some more you may not have known about!
http://www.atomicarchive.com/Reports/Japan/Accidents.shtml

Then we have the possibility of terrorist attacks on these nuclear plants! I personally do NOT see any real advantages to nuclear power!

Thanks Tinkie and noted!

1. Just as frightening as the Sociopath in Chief, no that's it he's frighteningly stupid, is his WMD mispronounciation: English; Nuke-lee-er, Bushese; Nuke-U-Ler.
2. Statistics, historically correct facts, pertinent information that
could disrupt world order, is truly used by people as Reference
in the form of an Editable source we call, "Wikipedia." Oy!
3. That through near a decade of the shredding of our Constitution, Executive Over Reach the likes of which had yet
been seen, Torture, Extraordinary Rendition, Ignoring Article.I.Section.8.,cl 12 - 16, suspending habeas, the Great
Writ, since the Magna Carta, redaction of the Fourth
Amendment, 3.5 times greater the number of signing statements
used by any Executive in History, yet here we have an adult woman referencing Wikipedia to back up ?facts?, and if anyone should have learned one new fact that was an ignorant American, "As US citizens we indeed are ALL Christian the one and only religion in OUR[as in the USAns]world, could nary a few started to come to a point in what I'd deem knowledge, that all that are followers of al Islam aren't going to go off on a tear using WMD's to an annihilate the world 'cos we us KA- Ray-ZE Muslims.
And if the young man would not bastardize Muslim by spelling anothers belief system improperly, "Muslem" which is an insult to the worlds largest religious group I'd greatly yell, "Inshallah! Seni cok sevyorim!"
Namaste
Rhoda

do you realize that the NEW FUEL is THORIUM [with a TINY bit of Uranium to get the process started]?

For purposes of better defining radiological hazards, thorium is often compared with uranium. The latter is better known, and there has been much more information developed for it. While the two are considered to be about the same order of hazard, they are dissimilar in many respects.
