From "green carpets" at awards shows to organic fruit served to actors on sets, Hollywood is going all out to promote itself as being environmentally hip.

"Green" seems to be the new "it" terms these days. Just as anything that is suppose to be good, gets twisted around for a profit and I am sure Hollywood is making their "green" off of the green movement.

You can spend infinite time analyzing how green anything is. And eventually you will reach a point where nothing is really green. How green is care2? How green is this community? Aren't we all using electricity, and harmful electronics which took a ton of non-green energy to create?

You want to be really green? Get a small piece of land and live there without anything but what you get off the land.

This article is a perfect example of writing an article for the heck of it. I never got the idea that "Hollywood" promoted itself as green. Many Hollywood stars are embracing the green movement, which in my opinion is a good thing but I never associated their embrace with the studios and industry as a whole.

So true Pedro...I agree with you as to be a TRUE GREENER...live off the land and in a simple housing. For me this is my dream, to live in this way but as the years mount upon me and also the $$ to buy a piece of land...maybe it's a dream I will take with me. In the meantime I just try to be as green as I can...live simple and be aware of how my footprint is seen upon this earth.
As for Hollywood...GREEN is a fad that is in right now. Lots are making money off this green train...some do care but as a whole not. Entertainers, and anyone that has big bucks are still building/buying HUGE homes (and more than just one) cars, recreational toys etc., and then they maybe are vegetarians on the side and buy eco-friendly objects now & then.
We all are guilty in some way or another of over consumerism and desires of wants and not pure necessity. I too get tempted to purchase stuff I do not need and when I want too, I start choking on my own words that I speak to you all. So KUDOS to all of you who keeps going forth in this battle to go & stay green in a world of greed, desires and the vanties this world has to offer.
