It's C-C-Claudius - or rather, Claudius the god. This is a portrait of the Roman emperor immortalised in the historical novels by Robert Graves.

Is that Claudius Gaius 'Caligula'? While it is a strong statement for Roman ability in metal and stone sculpture trades, I'm not exactly a fan of a Csar whose motto seems to have been 'When in doubt, either violate it or kill it!'

"An ordinary man posing as a hero"? Harsh words which are more than likely not relevant or applicable. No Fred, it's not Caligula, as is obvious by the irreverent reference to Claudius's stuttering.

Like the idea of a common guy getting a lasting image.
