Woolley and Katharine were friends with Agatha Christie through her second husband Max Mallowan, also an archaeologist. She "immortalized" them as murderer and victim in "Murder in Mesopotamia." Which is not to say the book is fact-based! Far from it! In fact I gather it was quite the inside joke. She also wrote a non-fiction work, "Come, tell me how you live," about her own experiences on digs.

Noted. Thanks, Marty! Fascinating stuff! Like your contribution, as well, Joanne. Hope these geniuses have many children, as often as humanely possible! Would do a lot to improve the human gene pool! :)
