NEW YORK (Reuters) - A Delaware judge on Friday ordered a man who twice exposed himself to a 10-year-old girl at his workplace to wear a T-shirt with the words: "I am a registered sex offender" in bold letters, a prosecutor said.

These shirts should be standard issue to perverts. Perhaps the authorities would think twice about allowing them to live in residential areas where there are children if they had to wear a shirt with that slogan on it.

Now here's a punishment with some punch in it. Good for that judge

It is about time that judges start putting out harsher punishment towards offenders!

Real cute, but totally unenforceable. After this many convictions, the guy should be spending those 22 months in jail!

Though I think it puts a "face" on sex offender for the majority who think they are people who look like "monsters" I think it is worthless. Sex offender, especially those of children should be placed in prison for the harshest punishment possible. There is NO cure for this and it only gets worse and more violent as they are left to their own sick devices. Sex offenders should not get a second chance to hurt a child. It makes me sick that in most cases the child is more "on trial" than the person who hurt them. A traumatized child, and whether they are able to face their attackers and speak of what happened is what stands between their attackers and any jail time or punishment. If the child is too traumatized to speak, the attacker goes free like nothing ever happened, but the child has to live with that for the rest of their life. Sick!

I like the idea of the shirt. This makes it embarrassing for the offender just like it is embarassing for the victim. Although, I think the life in prison sentence is much more appropriate! How about life in prison and wear the shirt in prison....? See what kind of punishment he gets then!

I see the point but as an attorney I have to wonder if this judge is going to have someone follow this man around to see if he is wearing it. I understand his reasoning, but the flipside of this is he has done his time and he will have to register with the sex offenders registry so why this too. I am not sure how they plan to enforce this. But, hopefully we will be hearing more about it. And if this judge feels this man is not capable of walking around without this slogan on his shirt, maybe this man should still be behind bars.

Great story Angie, sure has a lot of varied views. Thanks for sharing.

So, are you saying that we just leave him be so he can abuse his kids or my kids?
