LONDON (AFP) - British energy giants BP and Royal Dutch Shell revealed Tuesday that their combined first-quarter net profits surged to around 8.6 billion pounds (17 billion dollars) thanks to record high oil prices.

Un huh! Well, record high net big oil profits is NOT what people who are struggling to make ends meet want to hear. It's just another kick of sand in our collective faces.
