I agree with Tammy, not enough is being done. What is wrong with our Government that they are not accepting all the help that is being offered. I think they are using this time that folks are focused on the oil spill to do some other dirty deeds in the congress. Send them all home in November.

maybe I am naive - but why did they put out the fire in the beginning? would the environmental impact of burning oil be more detrimental than what we have now? i also heard some skimmers were denied because they didn't have enough life vests on board - really?! i knew obama refused help from other countries in the beginning, but now he says he wants their help and yet still continues to decline the skimmers? he hates the USA. he wants to give Brazil and other countries billions of dollars so they can drill for oil (upon which we would be dependent) and he can put another 40k+ Americans out of work? sorry to go on & on / just tired of this guy

Perhaps some conservatives should show leadership. Take your families on vacation down there. Swim in it and eat the seafood. Prove that it is ok to leave the oil as Rush suggested to "clean itself up". Oh, and drill baby drill. This will just save us having to do environmental studies since everything will be dead.

I do not understand why we do not accept the help offered. I think the US government is afraid that they will have to thank somebody for help or will beholding to some country.

Assumptions and/or wild guesses are no help, neither are prejudice conclusions from the right wing. As long as we don't know precise facts and reasons for certain actions taken or not taken, it is unwise to criticize and judge them. I refuse to think that the majority of you, the American people have elected a complete fool as the nation's leader!
