Thanks Krista. I made the decision to boycott Alaska(I have been there) after the Govt. set aside wildlife land, and the state of Alaska and Big Oil sued the Govt., wanting to drill in that land. They also allow the hunting of such wildlife as grizzlies that happen to wander right outside their protected areas. I love Alaska, but they are destroying the things that make Alaska GREAT!

There are trips made to hunt in Alaska, now I have to suppose wolves could be added to the list of animals permitted to be kill. ----- WHERE ARE ALASKANS?---------- SOMETHING TO SAY? or only "Welcome to Alaska"
Who keep statistics of animals being killed? Who dispose of the animals? How? Appart from those kept as trophys by hunters, where the others ended? Fur and all?
Is this written somewhere? Can wolf protection groups be witness of the process? - Should be!

Noted, signed with comments and forwarding. Congress was supposed to make this illegal in 1971, but as with many laws, there is a loophole. Sara Palin brought this to the front when she offered $150.00 for a wolf foreleg. This is barbaric. Run the wolves and bears down to exhaustion, then shoot them point blank. How horrible can murder of an animal be???!!!

As a Alaskan, I have been fighting for our wolves since I moved up here as a child, so Myraida, we're not all sitting back and letting them be killed! The voters have told the state TWICE to stop hunting down and killing the wolves! All these aerial hunts are for is just because they interfere with the trophy hunters! IN PLAIN ENGLISH: THE MAJORITY OF US DO NOT AGREE WITH THE POLICIES SET DOWN BY OUR STATE GOVERNMENT! And each time it has come up for a vote (aerial hunting and or trapping) we have voted it down! Fish and Game is owned by the trophy hunters of this state, unfortunately.....

I cannot sign the agreement to boycott as I live here and would be unable to comply (because then I would have to shop at walmart again), it would be detrimental to my family, however I will continue to fight for our canine friends as well as the other wildlife up here that has done nothing but be "in the way" of "progress"....

I am very sorry if my words maked you feel bad upon the saddness you are feeling. It is not my intention. I present you my excuses and ask for your pardon . It is just that in this case, like in many other causes, there is an absence of signatures/comments coming from alaska (the place where problem is taking place) as well as in many petitions, blogs etc...My words are not for the hardworkers for life, are for those sleepy so call alaskans and those foreigners living happily in Alaska but not caring about it. And there are many! And they are also alaskans. .- Wolves (and as we can see these days, all animals) need everybody in the coutry and outside, asking and working for their protection. Don't get mad, please, what I want would make your state life better and my spirit happier. That's all.

Myraida: I wasn't angry at you, just the situation, and I wanted you to be aware that there are people in Alaska doing everything they can for wildlife and such! There are a lot of "conservationists" here and all we can do is keep swimming against the tide. I love Alaska and have lived here for over thirty years, doing my part to keep it beautiful and wild. Do what you need to do to keep your spirit happier, I do understand! I wish you health and happiness!

Other than the petrolium situation I know of nothing made in Alaska other than Palin either. I wasn't even aware of the attrocity until her ya'gotcha face was all over my tele years ago. I have a bumper sticker with a lovely young wolf cub in the center. Above the graphic it says SARAH small baby letters below the graphic says: killed my mom
I about Boycott EVERYTHING these days...

I am very impressed with Britin J's posts. I have friends who live in Alaska and feel the same. It is my understand most of the population does, as you shared. It is hard to boycott anything made in the USA but as I said...I will not be traveling there nor do I know of anything I have ever purchased from AL.

Don't they have a lot of nerve:( They refuse to protect the polar bears but use them as a logo:(

Besides tourism & oil, I was wondering what products actually do come from Alaska. Not much:) But here is a list for your boycott list. Most of us already don't wear nor buy fur so this boycott is easy for me.

Just shelved our Alaskan cruise. That's me, Mike, our son and his wife, and my brother and his wife. And possibly two more family couples. I was looking forward to this for a long time, but am not giving Alaska one dime -they'll just continue to slaughter wolves. My energy is not going into that scene. We'll all find something more Earth-friendly to do. That picture makes me ill. TY Krista Noted and gladly SIGNED.

Given that one can never really tell from where the ingredients in so many of our products come, then we might as well boycott all stores and just live off of whatever we can produce in our own backyards. Besides, as long as one is putting gas into a personal vehicle, then you are probably pumping product that came from Prudhoe Bay. We need to demand that all subsidies and other federal supports for Alaska be cut, if not halted. When the entire state takes a big hit in federal spending, then Alaskans will probably become much more receptive to new ideas regarding their wildlife.

I lived there...all was quiet. I love you Alaska, but I will not buy anything from there, all your really nice gifts will not be bought..nor will I encourage my friends to take the Glacier Cruise, and the ones that had planned on it, they will cancel.Leave the wolves alone.
