Gordon Levy in Israel : Things One Sees From The Hague

The world's exaggerated willingness to forgive Israel is liable to crack this time. The pilots and gunners, the tank crewmen and infantry
soldiers, the generals and thousands who embarked on this war with their fair share of zeal will learn the extent of...

I think the that Israel has earned its place in infamy by it wholesale slaughter and disregard to all and every international law and convention. Somehow I feel the world will believe the pictures that have streamed out of the suffering and the destruction more than the honeyed words of these killers. The pictures of the slogans written up on walls by the troops, the deliberate shooting of people told to leave their homes, the shelling of UN Shelters...the list is o not complete...but my question is this. this song implies that there will be further fighting...we have seen the result of fighting. It is ugly. It is brutal. It is shocking. Fighting never produced an answer yet. Only talking will do that. Now is the time to talk...I produce below an article i wrote about this process.

It seems that the Israeli army has used weapons of an extreme form on the citizens of Gaza. Their repeated mantra that they were not targeting civilians rings hollow when set against the sheer numbers of children (near 400 killed) and Women (over 100) and innocent men who had no part to play in the fighting...some were even Peace activists or farmers.

On the other hand Hamas continued to fire token rockets of defiance to great risk to themselves.

Now the second war starts. The war of words; where there will be no victors. Words can be bent and shaped by clever wordsmiths to say anything, to make you feel anything.

Then the final act of this cycle of war begins for the hearts of the people whose leaders urged them on from their own places of safety. This was not leadership by either side. It was the innocent that were left to bear the brunt of the wrath of Israel. It was the innocent that bled in Gaza. We will be shown every graphic detail to make us hate. To force us to hate...to make us kill and kill and kill. This is the final tragedy that we who might have had some hope may be turned into the fighters of the future...which is a blind way to proceed...but an understandable one. Believe me I feel it for you. But I know that way only leads to more pain and suffering...having walked the road of suffering I know a little of its syntax and landscapes.

Somewhere from deep within must come the healing power of light...whether from God or just from oneself there has to be light...for without that light there is no hope...and I refuse to give up. On Tuesday the USA took a new step towards a possible better world. We have to have hope. On Tuesday a man was sworn in that promises to work with people of all faiths and none to build a more tolerant world...that light within is there. We have to have hope.

So please from one person that might have had good reason to hate I want to tell you that I refused to hate. When they told me who to hate I said NO. Today a Muslim woman asked me to join a study group to give a different perspective. I will. I have learn to love and that fills me with hope. I have learned that there are more important things than revenge that only destroys the person that practices it. I have learned that people I thought were my enemies are in fact my friends. I am learning each day that love is more important to a Muslim and a Christian than is hate.

Now crimes may well have been committed. Let the legalities be fought over in court...for now we have to find the light and hope that I have read about in both the Qur'an and in the Bible...I know it is there as I have seen it reflected in a thousand eyes...so please stop for a minute and believe in hope.

This is so painful, poor people but overall the kids, they are innocent victims of this cruel and vain war. Israel has to recognize that PALESTINA AND PALESTINIANS HAVE RIGHT TO THEIR TERRITORY!!! GAZA IS FOR PALESTINIANS.
Love, Black Dalia:)

1. Arabs are Semites too.
2. Israeli children are taken on outings to arms fairs by their elders.
3. They are taught to use arms.
4. You are blaming the victim.
5. Its inappropriate to place this here. You could post this as a standalone item.
6. I have photos taken by western correspondents to back up Nos 2 & 3 above.
7. This is an old trick, you are trying to hide the truth!

Let us know peace.
For as long as the moon shall rise,
For as long as the rivers shall flow,
For as long as the sun will shine,
For as long as the grass shall grow,
Let us know peace.
