I know this isn't giving you much time to make arrangements to be there, but I've been asked recently what kind of mining they want to do at the Grand Canyon. Here's the info, and an event protesting it.

New uranium mining claims, exploration, and permitting to reopen old mines on public lands surrounding Grand Canyon National Park.

Note this!
A Canadian company, Denison Mines is threatening to reopen the Canyon Mine, which is just miles from the sacred Red Butte, as a full mining operation. The Havasupai Tribe and others have been actively opposing Denison Mines seeking Groundwater Aquifer Permits from the ADEQ (Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality) to operate Canyon Mine and extract uranium. The Havasupai Tribe, who have inhabited the Grand Canyon region for many centuries, fear that contamination from uranium mining could harm the animals, air, water, and people.

As a native american I can tell you that the Canadian company has no idea what they are bringing upon themselves if they mess with sacred ground

It's God's s sacred land and no one seems to care about that. These are nothing but money hungry monsters who don't give a flip about the Grand Canyon. Thnx Jackie.

More radiation from the mines to the water to the people to the depleted form from bombs and nuclear waste dumping site that all are used/gathered on/around indigenous populations worldwide--- anyone see a pattern here??????? Ban all radiation exposure in any form and we might begin to get somewher.

It angers me that the big mining companies get away with murder... obviously money is paid under the counter... I would call it blood money... sherbet may the holes they dig for their profits become a curse and sink hole upon their own heads
