Hemp: God’s Gift to Humanity
Imagine a single cash crop that makes better paper than trees, better cloth than cotton, provides medicine for many common illnesses, and can be made into virtually anything from hamburgers to asphalt. All of these wonderful qualities lie in the demonized Cannabis plant, the source of the illegal drug, marijuana. Fear and ignorance about this plant have caused cultivation of all forms of it to be illegalized in the United States; even varieties that are grown exclusively for industrial uses like making clothing, which even the flowering tops of, have no psychoactive use whatsoever. The Cannabis plant is not the brain-killing addictive drug we have all grown up being told of, but instead is a life saver. With more complete and accurate education about this plant, the United States public would feel more secure with domestically farming and manufacturing hemp and legally providing marijuana-based drugs to patients who’s life depends one it. This high-yield cash crop would prove a stabilizing force in the U.S. economy, just as it once had in the colonial times.
The American hemp plant, Cannabis Sativa, which has been bred to have only trace amounts of the psychoactive chemical THC, is amazingly effective as an alternative medicine.

If you do this part,

All my daily needs, will be given,

in exchange, for Love,

of all your creations.

I Ask, and it will be given.

- You ask, and it will be given,,, it works for me :)

- My Daily Prayer -

My Father, You are my Heaven,

You are the Divine Creator of All.

Heaven, will be on Earth,

When God Consciousness

Is the common will.

My Faith in You,.. Alone,

is the key, to the

Doorway of Heaven,

.. and forgiveness for all.

All my daily needs, will be given,

in exchange, for Love,

of all your creations.

I Ask, and it will be given.

Evil is only a thought,

I will Banish those thoughts.

I will Replace them with Love.

Only then,

will we freely enjoy,

..Your Kingdom ..

of Heaven on Earth,

..for all Eternity.

With Your Blessing's.

..So Be It.

From Wayne (a previous post):

it all comes down to greed, power and money that is killing our world. Oil should be left alone where it meant to be. There are many forms of oil that is causing huge problems to our health, food, environment and the deterioration of our world's ocean ecosystems.

There are safer ways to keep our economic structure going without the use of oil such as natural hemp. Natural hemp industrialization can reverse and improve in such a big way to our DEPLETING PLANET.

Hemp is very much a danger to the oil companies, alcohol, tobacco industries and a large number of chemical corporations. Various big businesses, with plenty of dollars and influence, have suppressed the truth from the people.

The truth is if hemp was utilized for its vast array of commercial products, it would create an industrial atomic bomb! Entrepreneurs have not been educated on the product potential of hemp. The super rich have conspired to spread misinformation about an extremely versatile plant that, if used properly, would ruin their companies.

Hemp cultivation and production do not harm the environment.

For thousands of years, 90% of all ships' sails and rope were made from hemp.

80% of all textiles, fabrics, clothes, linen, drapes, bed sheets, etc. were made from hemp until the 1820s with the introduction of the cotton gin.

The first Bibles, maps, charts, Betsy Ross's flag, the first drafts of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were made from hemp

Oldest known records of hemp farming go back 5000 years in China, although hemp industrialization probably goes back to ancient Egypt.

In 1916, the U.S. Government predicted that by the 1940s all paper would come from hemp and that no more trees need to be cut down. Government studies report that 1 acre of hemp equals 4.1 acres of trees. Plans were in the works to implement such programs; Department of Agriculture

Henry Ford's first Model-T was built to run on hemp gasoline and the CAR ITSELF WAS CONSTRUCTED FROM HEMP! On his large estate, Ford was photographed among his hemp fields. The car, 'grown from the soil,' had hemp plastic panels whose impact strength was 10 times stronger than steel; Popular Mechanics, 1941.

'It has a short growing season...It can be grown in any state...The long roots penetrate and break the soil to leave it in perfect condition for the next year's crop. The dense shock of leaves, 8 to 12 feet above the ground, chokes out weeds.
...hemp, this new crop can add immeasurably to American agriculture and industry.'

In the 1930s, innovations in farm machinery would have caused an industrial revolution when applied to hemp. This single resource could have created millions of new jobs generating thousands of quality products. Hemp, if not made illegal, would have brought America out of the Great Depression.

In 1937, Dupont patented the processes to make plastics from oil and coal. Dupont's Annual Report urged stockholders to invest in its new petrochemical division. Synthetics such as plastics, cellophane, celluloid, methanol, nylon, rayon, Dacron, etc., could now be made from oil. Natural hemp industrialization would have ruined over 80% of Dupont's business.

Today, our planet is in desperate trouble. Earth is suffocating as large tracts of rain forests disappear. Pollution, poisons and chemicals are killing people. These great problems could be reversed if we industrialized hemp. Natural biomass could provide all of the planet's energy needs that are currently supplied by fossil fuels. We have consumed 80% of our oil and gas reserves. We need a renewable resource. Hemp could be the solution to soaring gas prices.

Hemp has a higher quality fiber than wood fiber. Far fewer caustic chemicals are required to make paper from hemp than from trees. Hemp paper does not turn yellow and is very durable. The plant grows quickly to maturity in a season where trees take a lifetime.

ALL PLASTIC PRODUCTS SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP SEED OIL. Hempen plastics are biodegradable! Over time, they would break down and not harm the environment. Oil-based plastics, the ones we are very familiar with, help ruin nature; they do not break down and will do great harm in the future. The process to produce the vast array of natural (hempen) plastics will not ruin the rivers as Dupont and other petrochemical companies have done. Ecology does not fit in with the plans of the Oil Industry and the political machine. Hemp products are safe and natural.

All of these amazing benefits that can heal our world from just one plant!! There are other plants and natural substances out there that can do the same.

If oil has not being brought out in the first place, our air, food, water, environment would have been so much cleaner for everyone to enjoy.
Thx Scott!Go Hemp!

I didn't realize it had so many uses either. Is it legal in all parts of Canada? Too bad it's so bloody cold there! Thanks, Scott. Noted & agree.

I never realized it had so many uses either! But do you think our government will allow us to have something so useful and inexpensive? No Way! They wouldn't make millions off it.

Yes, we have a stiff need for weed!! Thats "exactly" why they took it away from us. They have yet to figure out how to "charge" us for something we can grow, and until they do, American families will be torn apart, countless will go to prison needlessly, and Prohibition will continue! Good post Scott.

Scott, I believe that in Canada, you must apply, get a permit to grow, only certain number given in a year, if I'm not mistaken. ???

Thanks for sharing this!

Here's my POT rant...coming from the heart of the pot wars, the Emerald Triangle here in Northern Cali/Southern Ecotopia:

First of all, there's a unique distinction between pot and hemp!!! Yes, grow hemp, do it "illegally" for sustainable economic development possibilities...Don't grow pot for profit, it's destroying our communities here in Mendocino County, and destroying the minds of many of our youth, or at least dumbing them down, keeping young people from activism, social change...smoking pot for pleasure, not spiritual enlightenment (which should be for celebration, communion, not pleasure alone). I say this as one who has been through it all, beginning with the Summer of Love, someone who lives in the heart of the cult of worshiping and the glorification of pot and the growing of it for profit. I say to the many second generation (kids of the original 60's back-to-the-landers here in Mendoland) pot growers: GROW HEMP FOR HUMANITY/FOR COOMUNITY/FOR LOCAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT...Don't grow POT for PROFIT!!! To hell with your profit, lazy capitalistic vuturism, pot growing. And to the many of you, who say it's for Medical Pot...BS!!! And you know it. You're growing it to make bucks, big bucks, with very little work, hiring other kids for the harvest, in many cases, treating them just like a big corporation would treat it's slave workers...AND, what are you giving back to your communities? Nothing! At least here in Mendocino County you're not, here, where a new law was just passed (Measure B) limiting the number of plants you can grow for your profit motive...Whine, whine from you because now the local law says you legally can only grow 6 mature plants a year, not the 25 that was passed a few years back..Whine, whine from all you lazy, spoiled 2nd generation pot growers (some of whom I'm friends with by the way)...Oh, so sorry that you can only grow 6 plants legally now (oh, for medical use, you say...Yeah sure, it's the profit you care about, in most cases, imho), not the cancer patient you claim to sell to, through the "pot club." Yes, I'm in favor of total legalization of pot in the US, and if it were law, pot could be taxed, the crime element taken out of it...but that's not the case now. Community loving folks here are fed-up with the entitlement attitude of the pot growers...It's not some holy herb, it's just another plant (given by Mother Earth...call her God, Great Spirit, whatever), with some good properties, as MANY other herbs from Mother Earth, many with way more healing properties than pot, and yes, for pain too. But I rant on too much!

I say keep the Rebel Spirit, but grow HEMP for humanity/community, not POT for profit!!!

End of rant...sorry, just the way feel about it!

Hemp Natural or Industrial has over 5,000 known uses. Properly utlized it could generate real global wealth. Hence the reason it has been demonized, it would upset the status quo of wealth generation. I have been plugging it as the alternative crop they should promote in Afghanistan. Invest of a couple of plants one for paper usage, and another for a wood pulp alternative. If our dear sweat government really wanted to install a new prosperous government there. They would consider this venue. Oh, yes George W. grew hemp. It was the major cash crop of the thirteen colonies. After all the sun never set on the Britsh Empire, and all those sails, ropes, clothing, utinsles, where not made from poly products and plastic. Looks like I may have to dig up an old article of mine on Industrial Hemp. As the servers I use have claimed all links to it have been wiped clean. LOL. I will have to try and find it and blog it here, at care 2. Take care all, power to the people, hemp is the power.

Thank you for this blog, Scott. You, and other contributors, have certainly opened my eyes to the potential of Hemp to turn around the economic mess that is much of post-colonial Africa.

The Transkei is probably the most impoverished part of my own country, South Africa, but it certainly doesn’t have to be. The area, by all accounts, produces extremely fine marijuana (or dagga as it is known locally), and although the authorities manage to destroy a large proportion of the annual crop, what survives serves to sustain thousands of families who otherwise would be starving.

Clearly the potential to grow Hemp in that kind of environment would be astounding.

However, in the Apartheid era the authorities found marijuana very threatening. A criminology text book of the era warned that “in extreme cases the use of dagga may even cause people of different races to mix”. Marijuana appears to have been eternally demonised.

Times have changed in South Africa, but that clearly misplaced obsession remains intact. Insanity, it would seem, continues to prevail (although, as in the States, vested interests may well be playing a pivotal role).

And therein lies the rub. Some weird and obscure ‘logic’ causes out president, Thabo Mbeki, to continue to prop up Mugabe in Zimbabwe; to effectively sentence hundreds of thousands of HIV/Aids sufferers to death ….

… and to doom his home region to perpetual poverty by failing to recognise that its ‘weakness’ is perhaps its greatest strength.

Anyone know where I can buy industrial hemp seeds-not GMO? I live in Belize and believe I can try growing it here. Also, do you know where I can find recipes for hemp?
