What a shame that India does not recognise that they can control emissions whilst developing.

sounds like they have their priorities on straight, unlike the USA

Shame on India ! Everyone will suffer, as well as their own people due to all of the emissions they allow. Maybe we should boycot their imports until they do go along with the rest of the world trying to clean up our enviroment.

This is very disappointing and it really shows that the major world powers need to be seen to be doing more so that the rest of the world will follow. It's not good enough.

Many years ago I illustrated a story on a man driven from his engineering vocation by coal companies who would not use his method of cleaning green house gas emission. If memory serves me he was bought out or thrown out of his job, maybe both, in any case I believe his patent was bought and suppressed. . . . as are many technologies inconvenient to profit motives. Too bad, we'll really be paying a far greater price.

India has very many smart people they have been educating...not deliberately dumbing down.

They still know a scam when they see one.

Shame on them... must we all suffer because of their rebellion in complying with international standards... Perhaps that is why they are staring to face serious droughts and mass flooding... Open your eyes and smell the coffee... or should I say poverty

Two of three of India's mega-cities - Mumbai and Kolkata - lie barely above sea level. Their decision will give cover to many other nations who don't share the same risks, and have less incentive to do anything to control carbon emissions. I suppose that long-term, we will continue to see more of India's prosperous and elite take their profits and flee the country to places where rising sea levels won't result in massive human and economic tragedy.

Did anybody expect anything different? The ridiculous Obama energy tax plan is nothing more than the China and India Full-Employment Act. They are not stupid enough to cripple their economies over a smoke and mirrors magic trick. They are laughing all the way to the bank.
I just hope the US wakes up before it is too late.
