About time the big boys in government got involved, they need to control the big corporations that buck the system.

This is as amazing as Bush calling for strong measures duing his tenure! However, although Europe is doing what it can the US must set the standard by joining in with the Kyoto agreement and encouraging Russia, China & India to follow. As long as America, one of the worst polluting industrial countries in the world, does nothing or as good as, then other countries will not feel obliged to support any new agreement. Trading/buying the rights to pollute isn't any sort of answer, each company needs to be responsible for itself, oil companies especially.

France has never been one to follow the pack, and Europe is generations ahead of North America when it comes to energy. I hope some of the offenders most dependent on fossil fuels will follow suit and make some tough but necessary changes.
