I signed the Wake UP Walmart.com site re: advertising on Beck's show. Let's hope the others wiill follow. He used to be pretty moderate on CNN - but now he's lost it on FOX.

Well, at least I'm glad these companies pulled their advertising from the Glenn Beck Show. That just MIGHT put an end to this ignorant, racist blowhard. (God, how can any sane, intelligent person watch this guy, let alone be a follower of his. He's like a comedy act without the comedy, and would seem silly, except for the fact that a lot of lemming-like Palin/Limbaugh loving nutsies think he's a pundit too.

But if FOX doesn't experience a serious loss of real income throughout its entire network, then this withdrawal of backing for Beck seems like a rather empty gesture overall. The FOX people need to feel a deep revenue loss. That's what really counts with these race-baiting, money grubbing bunch of *Murdochians*.

The day that Geico drops FOX altogether is the day I just may switch my auto insurance to this company.

Big news today. We've confirmed that eight more major advertisers have pulled their support from Glenn Beck's show -- Wal-Mart, Best Buy, CVS, Travelocity, Allergan (maker of Restasis), Ally Bank, Broadview Security, and Re-Bath.


Overall, twenty advertisers have now ended their support of Beck. We're going to keep the pressure on Beck's remaining advertisers this week, and we'll let you know how you can help.

Hi NE L. figures that they would - they are the racist ones - well newsmax.com is a very conservative guy, who if not ranking out what the Pres. is doing, is trying to advise on medical help - he's not an official doctor, he never completed his med. exams from what I heard. So he's a fringe that tries to stir up the pot. If you google his name, you will find his history. Seems all the right can do is yell, they haven't come up with anything to counter offer.

I have nothing against free speech...however when it is meant to hurt someone it quickly becomes a different issue. Facts are, you really do not know the facts! From a September 2 press release from ColorOfChange.org:

Eleven new companies whose ads were recently seen during Beck's program -- Binder & Binder, Capital One, The Dannon Company, Discover, HSBC, ICAN Benefit Group Insurance, Infiniti, Jelmar (manufacturer of CLR All-Purpose Cleaner), Jordan McKenna Debt Counseling Network, Mercedes-Benz and Simplex Healthcare (creator of the Diabetes Care Club) -- have pledged to ColorOfChange.org to take steps to ensure that their ads don't run on Beck's show. Fifty-seven companies have now committed not to support Beck's show since ColorOfChange.org launched its campaign four weeks ago after the Fox News Channel host called President Obama a "racist" who "has a deep-seated hatred for white people" during an appearance on Fox & Friends.

"We applaud those companies that have recently pulled their support from Beck," said James Rucker, executive director of ColorOfChange.org. "There are at least 57 companies who will not tolerate Beck's race-baiting comments and we will continue to reach out to those who are still supporting him."

I've forwarded to others - I think I will also send to some on the right. Hammer and sickle are farming implements long before it became the communist symbols. Perhaps Beck thinks that the communist should have the czar's crown as their symbol instead. They choose the opposite as they were opposed to the czar's complete disregard for the people and they revolted in 1917.

This comes after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi expressed worry that something terrible would come from the right-wing rhetoric and frenzy of the tea baggers...and the republicans laughed at her.

Mary...I was up late last night when I heard this news. It shocked me. It should shock anyone in this country that a man was hung on a tree in this day and age. And he was hung for being a census taker for the government!! The method used to kill him was meant to send a message to others.

I feel everyone in this country is responsible for that man's death because we did not get Beck, Limbaugh, Bachmann and other right wing liars like them out of public viewing to be able to influence the village idiots.

Beck has been on the air warning that he would be blamed for deaths or violence like this.

Yelling 'FIRE!' where there is none, inciting idiots to violence, and spewing hateful messages to millions of people tells anyone with any wits about them that there will be thousands out of those millions who are capable of horrific acts like this. Beck better hope they don't find this man's murderer and he tells them he watches Fox News regularly and Beck in particular, although that's exactly what these people watch in the South. Clear Channel has the monopoly down there.

My condolences for this man's family. May he RIP and may they find his murderer.

Marion Y - I think that article deserves a New Care2 page - for comments - this might be lost under Beck column here. I linked it to my FACEBOOK (Washington Post article). It has to be more widely spread about this awful event and the fact of what the authorities said, "IF".... such a small word with such big meaning. There is no "if" in that homicide.
