With the world seemingly unable to stop Iran's nuclear march, other countries in the region are now pushing forward with their own plans to build nuclear power plants.

the "human" race is out of control ... but hey... when all is said and done ... maybe the animal and plant kingdom will have their chance to "regenerate" !

Not likely anything can withstand this.. Don't people realize that they have no safe way to get rid of the waste created in these plants... It takes 10,000 years to negate the poisons left behind. I think it's all a ploy to try and hide nuclear weapons development. What a nightmare...

The US only wants to get into Iran for the uranium.

The U.S. and Russia have thousands of nuclear weapons so thinking of any other countries using them is nonsense. Today European countries, India, Pakistan, China and Israel have some of these weapons, yet it's likely that the U.S. and Russia won't tolerate any one of them individually using such weapons as anything more than a defensive weapon -- if they're attacked and have no alternative. We've already proven that any country can produce nuts for leaders -- we had Dubya and Cheney. The Russians can also produce such crazies who say they reserve the right to attack anyone the feel like. The only solution is the gradual removal of all nuclear weapons, expecially by the U.S. and Russia. Also, many of these countries have come to depend on the possibility of using nuclear energy instead of oil, especially as the price of oil increases. Even countries with lots of oil like Iran and Saudi Arabia would rather sell their oil to make lots of money while they use nuclear power. Increasing alternative sources of energy like wind, geothermal, wave, tidal and the sun could solve that problem. We'll need much more investment in those.

Couldn't agree with you more Rosemary... just can't understand why people just cannot live together in harmony... and forget the nuclear plants... we need natural sources of energy and in those countries with all that sunshine it could happen
