On the edge of subsistence living, the Tsaatan rely on the reindeer for all their basic needs - the milk, which is also used to make cheese (it tastes, by the way, like a very sharp Parmesan); the antlers, which they use to make tools; and transport.

I think this is a very hopeful article. Anything that empowers aboriginal people is a good thing. I live in a very rural area, everything costs more than it should because of that. Being isolated should Not mean you Have to be Alone, especially in times of emergency. Thanks Cal!:)

It's kind of funny that they have cell signal when I don't here in southern IL!;) Still, they need it more than I, I at least have a land line.
