Even in the "oldest old," a little physical activity goes a long way, extending life by at least a few years for people in their mid- to late 80s, Israeli researchers found.

My 88 year old mother spends 30 minutes a day on her stationary recumbent bike and she her health is so much better than those of her same aged friends that do not.

IMO this is common sense just look at the Obese children today & why is this? They don't get enough exercise when I was a kid we played for hrs outdoors.I raised 4 children not one was over weight & now I have 5 Grandchildren also healthy weights.
