Only two comments on Mary's death?! That in itself is sad. Does nobody know who and what she was? I especially loved "Leaving on a Jet Plane".

Peter Paul and Mary was the first concert I went to, they were awesome! I use to sing their songs to my children, their favorite bedtime song was "Hush a Bye". My 29 year old son (OMG29!) would cry when we sang "Puff the Magic Dragon" because he felt so sad for Puff ! I am glad my kids know PP&M's music and the meaning of the songs for that time and even now! Sending love to you Mary...Thank you

I dearly appreciated Mary & loved the group!!! So many memories~~~
Viktoria, you have a precious son! It was popular in our house & now grandchildren like it too. Mom still teases me because when I read about Rip Van Winkle I cried when got lost & then cried (happy tears!) when he returned~ Having compassion is a treasure that all humans should encourage!

Mary's voice is truly blowing in the wind now.for all to hear forever. The sounds of Peter, Paul and MAry made a generation, made us look at ourselves and to lighten up while we demanded more. It saddens me that she is gone but I am happy my mom can hear her singing now. We shall be joined together again someday. Viktoria, I still feel sorry for puff, the helicopter gun ships we used in Vietnam. Living with those memories must not be easy for those that took part.

When I was a child my favorite song was Puff the magic dragon. I made my half sister play it over and over at her slumber party. I am sure she hated that. I loved her voice. She will be missed.

The world will never be the same. There is a silence in my heart that will remain hers. A new voice is now heard in the heavens.
and I don't give a damn if it makes me sound like a softie.

Peter, Paul & Mary had a wonderful blending of voices, and of personalities. They also did a great deal for the Social Causes of the time. Now only two of the trio are left. My last memory of Mary, is her onstage with her small grand-daughter in a Christmas concert that was broadcast on Public TV... it was touching when she sang with the child on her lap....
