This like Gitmo and other arrangements for detention should never should have been started in the first place. Our reckless imprisonment of innocent people is one of the components of the US losing the moral high grand internationally. Thank you, Cal for this article. At least this particular source of shame has been closed.

Detention without trial is a crime. My heart goes out to all these souls. May this madness end completely. There are still other camps - all filled with people who have no voice!

It's about time, I say!! This to me is one of the most shameful and embarassing things about the U.S. involvement in the war in Iraq, and I think every single one of these detention camps being manned by U.S. military personnel should be closed ASAP!! It is just horrendous that our government thinks they have the right to hold somebody in a camp like this without even charging them with a crime or giving them the right to counsel or a trial -- and we try to tell everyone else in the world how democratic our society is??? It's ridiculous!!
