If only the outcry were louder and stronger...the popular media here in the US is largely not telling this side of the story since a PR firm is being paid to tell us what the coup gov't wants folks to believe. They are making it seem that the local folks out on the streets are rioting when in fact they are out there fighting for their rights and their very lives. The curfews and limitations on rights mean they have no ability to work and when they do not work, they do not eat. Life is day to day and no money means no food. I have lived there and am moving back, so I know the reality well. Do whatever you are able to draw attention to the truth! The people are counting on the international community to pay attention and stand up to their governments!

And now Senator Jim DeMint(R.SC) after having the plug pulled his planed trip at taxpayer expence by the Foreign Relations Committee on which he sits, has found taxpayer funding through the Armed Services Committee, on which he does not sit, to go to Honduras with the publicly stated purpose of telling the military leaders to resist US pressure to reinstate the democratically elected President of Honduras. This a felony crime under the Logan Act; which reads in part "Any United States citizen, wherever he may be without authority of the United States( that would come from President Obama or possibly Secretary of State Cilnton not DeMint himself or the RNC) directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government...with the intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government...in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States or to defeat measures of the United States shall be fined under this title or be imorisoned not more than 3 years or both.". So not only is the trip to Honduras with the publicly expressed intent of telling the military hunta to resist United States pressures and call for the Elected President of Honduras a felony but the public statement of the purpose of the trip is also a felony as it is indirect communication with a foreign government in relation to a dispute/controversiy and an attempt to defeat measures of the United States. And the Repugnicans call Democrats un- or anti-American.

The government should sort out all the dirty laundry... and not expect their citizens to do the washing for them
