Thanks Cal...This IS funny and the artists have done a great job...BRILLIANT! :)...Looks a little like a Zebra designed by a 'committee'?

"This crap can be absorbed into the system"???... Just like hair dye Gorilly, except that it doesn't touch the skin, does it?

Well, it will keep the kids happy until Israel kindly stops interfering in Gaza and they can afford a new one?...Israel should open the borders and provide a replacement though!

Thanks Cal...

The photo itself is bad enough with those big ears, boy they must think people are really stupid.

Great video at the site, to bad about the two zebras dying from lack of food! Guess, at least the kids are having a great time petting these donkeys and evening riding them.

Sad that they had to resort to this though, and hope that the hair dye didn't hurt their hides!

Animal abuse to make the kids happy? This is not teaching children anything but to disrespect animals. What a horrible and terrible example.

"Animal abuse to make the kids happy? This is not teaching children anything but to disrespect animals. What a horrible and terrible example"..

A horrible and terrible example Venessaa?...How about the Israeli abuse of Gaza?...The kids are happy, the Palestinians are not...

Does the welfare of animals make you happy, despite the plight of humans?...How sad for you, and humanity?

I think a lot of you may be missing the point. I doesn't really matter that the horse is painted as long as it isn't hurting it. And while the Israeli/Gaza situation is sad, this post is of an animal. I'm worried about the donkey and how it's going to be provided for. As long as it's being properly cared for, and no harm is being done, then there isn't anything wrong with the situation. No one is trying to exploit the donkey or mock it, the zoo is simply trying to provide a zebra for the children until a new one can be brought in and properly cared for. The donkey isn't being abused in this situation. What would truly be sad is if another zebra was brought in and there weren't enough supplies to feed and offer shelter for the replacement...

Im not missing the point they portraing a donkey as a zebra which it isnt. So what if they are out a zebra at the moment. This donkey isnt fed well either look how his flanks sink in and the protrusion of the butt bone this donkey needs more food they were not meant to look like this and yes I do know....He should be alot fatter....

I don't thin k this is sick, I think this is very very sad that they have to do this at all. The zebras died because they staved because of the horrible crap Israelis put the Palestinians through. If I remember right soldiers went through and killed many animals for no reason including a pregnant camel. This zoo probably still does not get the food it needs for animals it still has. This donkey looks very thin. I understand they are trying to bring people in a maybe make some kids smile but this is still rather sad.

in a way this is sick....but i feel more for those poor little zebras that have passed away...but i dont think that painting a donkey is the right way to go...it may make the kids smile but still....if the past zebras have died than y bring in more animals that could suffer the same fate.....wats up with davids comments. people are aloud to have there own opinion about this

To bring in more zebras, only to suffer the same fate as those who went before them. I think they really need to sort their s%^t out before bringing in anymore animals. What's to say that these donkey's won't die as well due to the conflict?

If they can't afford to feed their animals, then they shouldn't even have a zoo.

I think this is sad, and a bit silly too. Donkeys are lovely animals. Why children wouldn't like them too?

Please Israel, take over from these inept asses. As it is we hear of the horrors meted out to donkeys all over the Arab world.

doesn't this also tell you how stupid these people must think their zoo visitors are? aren't zoos supposed to exist to educate people?

Yes suzanne they are and this will just add to the confusion for a child...maybe not a adult for we know better but dont try to pull the wool over a childs eyes for you sick profits....

And Yes the donkey is underweight at least 100 pnds.
