Four years after denying a Chinese bid to buy Unocal, the U.S. may be in too weak an economic position to object. Rebuffing China could also push it into the arms of countries hostile to the U.S.

That is why is has now become apparent that the US needs to bring back their business to their own door... they need to be the creative work force that they once wre, then they would not have to bow down and take second best

Chaz, I don't know if you are eligible, but I will be happy to campaign for your presidential run in 2012!

Unfortunately, we no longer have the infrastructure, resources, or trained personnel to "bring back business". Most of the U.S. plants that closed shipped their equipment to China. Since we are ardent shoppers always seeking the "best price" it is doubtful even if possible we would buy our own products. We favor low prices and plentiful shopping over stability, a balanced budget, or full employment. We don't even care for our own environment, it's all about "drill baby drill".
