112 years ago when I first started being a nature advocate, forestry had the single biggest negative impact on natural areas and wildlife habitat. Most used clearcutting.
I'm glad to see so many mills have shut down and the industry has been failing and doing poorly. This is great news.
Logging has an extremely long list of crimes going back many decades.

Some more good news, huge world famous Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada has just had it's logging-free areas increased from 20% to 35%. I think the conservation orgs are trying for 50% so they still have a way to go.
After all, it's a 'protected' park yet it allows logging! If you can't keep industry out of parks...sheesh.

Definitely .. forests need to regenerate, and grow... we cannot keep tearing down these trees without side effects...
