The horney toad prayer was one used in WW-2,to win the war.A most powerful prayer,a sacred reptile, when you find rub it againts your chest, ask him/her that your heart be wet !!For a wet heart indicates good health.

Can't believe these little guys are in danger. I used to just love them and they were my play buddies when I lived on the reservation in Arizona. They truly were different and special than other reptiles. It may sound crazy but they really would act like they enjoyed the human attention and would actually come to you and sit on your legs or lap if you stayed quite and would look you in the face and cock their heads when you spoke to them, most probably being a kid was the reason for the attention I would get. They probably sensed child innocence and that I would not harm them. Wonderful little beings.

Growing up in West Texas, these horny toads (phrynosoma) as we called 'em were a favorite lizard to encounter. Today, even in the very rural areas of my upbringing, they are now a very rare commodity to encounter.

I am for sure, glad that a long hard fought court battle finally turned in the lizard's favor, for they are most deserving of protection. One would hope that its not too late...
