The GOP's Pathetic Attack on Elizabeth Warren

US Politics & Gov't  (tags: republicans, obama, politics, republican smear campaign, Elizabeth Warren, consumer protection, u.s., usa, government, ethics, dishonesty )

With their letters and hearings, Republicans are trying to craft a narrative that makes Warren and the CFPB out to be the bad guy, an example of evil big government prying into the lives of ordinary Americans and eating up taxpayer money for no good reaso

You are so right, Helen. The wall street crowd and the GOP are terrified of the Lady. I think they are more afraid of her than anyone else, including that 'black' guy in the 'White' House they hate so much.

I have a great idea. President Obama should let Joe retire and have Elizabeth be his running mate for his second term; 90% of republicans would have stress related mental breakdowns. We may even see bankers jumping out of windows like back in the Great Depression.

If those clowns don't like her, she must be doing something right.

The Repugs would be terrified of Ms. Warren, or any good regulator and regulations to stop their greed. We need more government officials, like Ms. Warren (and Bernie Sanders, Dennis Kucinich) who really care about the working American!

In Australia we have had consumer protection for a long time. We even have laws against false advertising.
What Elizabeth Warren is doing is necessary and good.
Good to see a person in such a position who really cares for people and therefore tries to stop rip-off merchants.

She's a soldier. I hope 2012 will allow for a Democratic Majority to takes subsidies from wall street and give it to her and the CPA.

The problem, as I see it, is that the agency does not have a director. The director of the agency has to be appointed by the Senate, and Warren is technically only an adviser to the President and the Treasury. She should just be put forward as the Director and then can enforce the rules.

Elizabeth Warren is a hero! Of course the thieves from the banking industry are going to do everything they can to keep her from protecting consumers. Their deceitful practices equate to big profits.Their greed nearly destroyed our economy. In return, the taxpayers bailed them out --and for that they rewarded themselves with large bonuses using our money. We need Elizabeth Warren to help us keep that --or anything like it-- from ever happening again!

Elizabeth Warren is necessary and very strong. The Repubs think they will get to her. The more I hear of the Repubs the more I hate them. They are evil and we need to lasso and tie them up and send them to hell.

They are frothing at the mouth and are desperate to get in power continuing to ruin the country as they have in the past that they will pick on every Dem and say and do anything they can.

Thanks Cal.

I suspect that Elizabeth Warren is more than capable of defending herself, and the goals she has in mind.

Elizabeth Warren is a watch dog who really watches. That's why the corporations and their republican whores are so petrified by her.

Elizabeth Warren is a strong, dedicated woman of intelligence and integrity. Obama and all others in his administration need to stand beside her and behind her and quit pandering to those who love Wall Street over the American public.
