The Chinese government unless in a posturing performance where money may be made, do not give a damn for any wildlife or environmental issues - no surprises here. However about 4 years ago I saw elephant tusks for sale openly at a London street market. I took photographs and sent a report to the Metropolitan Police and to Cites. Nothing happened for 6 weeks until I received an email from Cites telling me that the "Tusks were no longer on sale at that market and the named trader was absent" - big surprise after 6 weeks! The letter or email response from the police never arrived indicating that the British Authorities have much in common with their Chinese counterparts.

Of course, nothing different is expected from the Chinese. Their disregard for the environment has no parallel in the world. As long as there's a demans we'll see wildlife diappear for the pleasure of a few imbeciles who want to smear themselves in bear bile and make horrible statues with ivory. Disgusting!

We must DEMAND the Chines ban these atrocities. Best count is there are 3,200 tigers left in the wild. Why, because Chinese men think tiger parts (Charlie Sheen?) make them virile. The rest of the world banned ivory in the 1970's -- there is NO EXCUSE for allowing this trade to continue.

Oh, what a surprise this is (insert sarcasm here)!

Said it before, will say it again: Until humans give up the stupid, selfish and destructive notion they should *have* everything they *want*, the rest of the world is in genuine peril. These Chinese could care less about what happens tomorrow, so long as they get what they want today...and there are too many humans on the planet for this attitude to continue. African nations should gang up and sue China in the world court for failing to enforce international trade bans which DIRECTLY result in endangered wildlife slaughtering in African nations, thus impacting the species and African tourism.

Yes, China, you ARE responsible for EVERYTHING you do.

China seems to be really nutty regarding animals. Shark fin soup, ivory, cat and dog fur farms, cat and dog meat, bear bile farms, other endangered species used for 'medicinal' purposes...
Makes them look real degraded in the eyes of the rest of the world.

The Chinese feel they can get away with anthing...and seem too!!! This saddens my heart, and makes me wonder just when elephants will cease to exist.

There can be no case for ANY trade in this ivory or ANY animal parts. It simply MUST BE STOPPED NOW. We cannot tolerate this blatant trade by the Chinese. WHO IS GOING TO GET IT STOPPED? AND WHEN? Once the Chinese have used up all the ivory, tiger parts, tiger bones, cat and dog and other animal fur in the world, what will be left for them to exploit?

I don't swear online. The Chinese are willing to kill anything that moves. GW Bush put us in debt to China to have a war that has nothing to do with 9/11. It's like selling us to Hitler.

A sick "culture". Want to have nothing to do with them, accept for saving the animals.
Buddhism, Shintoism. both lost, Communism (disguised capitalism) won, and that to the detriment of humans and animals alike.
China not on my vacation destination at all, this country is a disgrace to the World.

chinese greed seems to have no limits. i cannot respect a society that goes along with the atrocities against
animals and humans. it is not just the chinese government, but the chinese people who are responsible for
these barbaric acts. i am disgusted with this regime and its' people. wake up chinese people, you are
becoming wildly despised for your acts against animals, the environment, and your immoral conduct in business.
i refuse to buy anything made or grown in china. mind you, the chinese are wily and corrupt enough to mislabel all their products sold to the rest of us. the whole nation is indoctrinated and sick and is lacking
in morals (apologies to chinese human rights activits and other progressives), but they are a tiny minority
among the sheeple
