This is outrageous. Good that the Guarani now have the ability to let the world know of their plight through the internet. This merits a big petition.

I hope the Brazilian government listens to global feedback..but even the US is having one hell of a time trying to get Shell out of this country, not to mention the XL and BP.
God jow this world could use a level playing field!

No protection for indigenous people around the world because oil (Shell, BP, Exxon/ Mobil/ Chevron) and agriculture (Del Monte, Dole, Chiquita) corporation evict Indians out of their ancestral land where depend on food and living without government intervention. Remind of American history, European Americans evict Indians out of homeland and their natural resources. Greed and Power of Management in Brazil and US Corporation need trial for crime against HUMANITY and Nature.

They (Corporation) need skin alive (Punished) and be waterboarding for TERRORISM OF INDIANS TRIBES and HUMANITY. LOL

I believe that indigenous peoples know the value of land they live on and would make a better--i.e., more sensitive--use of it. They would have never been open to this had they been asked for their approval, as they should have been. Given that it is their land, the land of their ancestry, it should be protected by the law against an intrusion, esp. one of this kind -- is there such a law? --, while they themselves should be left alone, to live their lives peacefully. These companies have no respect, neither do they have any scruples: Not only do they encroach on these people's land -- do they even give them a share of the revenue from the crops they grow?! -- and compromise the health of these people, they even resort to threatening them! First nations have always unjustly been victimized... This is an evident human rights violation, and should be stopped, thus I hope this nation will get help and protection it deserves.

Shell - "destroying more indigenous lands and slowly killing thousands". It fits well with their slogan of "You can be sure of Shell". You can be sure they are destroying the environment and the people on those lands.

How could the Brazilian government allow this? Shame on them! But then again most governments in the world today are unscrupulous and shameless! Can't expect everyone to be like Mahatma Gandhi or Nelson Mandela who were selfless...

I understand them perfectly. Maybe we all should ask Shell to leave concidering how they behave around the world. This is not the only country they make negative impact on.

There hasn't EVER been a pro-environmental, pro-indigenous people Brazilian government nor will there ever be. They are on a par with the Chinese or Indonesians when it comes to pure, unadulterated rottenness.
