According to the independent British charity the Prison Reform Trust too many foreign nationals are being locked up in the United Kingdom for non-violent crimes who are likely the victims of human trafficking or have been coerced into offending.

So what is the answer - turn them loose into a Society already overburdened with refugees and illegals - let the tax payer continue supporting them. The Welfare System in Britain is defunct and needs re thinking.

patrica and edw jones, what is this obsession of yours with "refugees" and "illegals"? On so many articles you always insinuate how bad they are and dehumanize them and say they are the cause of so many social ills and evils which is really scapegoating. In the case of this issue, a proper and compassionate solution can be found but people must be willing to work towards it rather than take the easy way out. It's not right to imprison them since they are VICTIMS of human trafficking. So what would you propose? That they be imprisoned and in effect, victimized twice? That's ridiculous.

Surely there is some way these people could be helped by the system rather than imprisoned--they are victims, not criminals.
