Thanks, Pat!

Notice how QUICKLY some people want to blame Obama?

We can write to our representatives....and I suspect there will be heavy-duty support from environmental groups.

It simply, is not imaginable, how ANYONE, could be a party to the destruction of any of these old growth forests. We visited Sequoia National Park and the wonder of these incredible living structures, boggles the imagination. Words are not in our dictionary, to describe them.

Thanks Cal. Must be many 'old' legislations still available to those who want to use or abuse them. Thanks Pat G. for the info.
Wonder if there are any new legislations to stop the destruction of the Tongass and similar environmental vulnerable areas.
Am listening to machines of 'mass destruction' within a mile from where I live. Think a new cell tower with supplemental generators is going to be put in. My how the earth and other living beings pay for and with human technology and hungers. The hummingbirds and others whose food and homes are being destroyed, are making themselves known to me.

Oh no, not the beautiful trees of History's past. We need Tree Huger Groups to form a Human Chain around these trees with petitions in the making to save them. If it lives as anything else does, trees have feelings to. I know cause watch a tree shake in the winter when no wind is blowing. You cut a tree it bleeds with what we call sap.

This is horrible! I suspect that anyone who thinks President Obama can be blamed for this legislation did not read the article, which clearly states that Alaska Republicans Senator Lisa Murkowski and Representative Don Young are responsible for this piece of garbage. The majority of Republicans in Congress and the Senate think global warming is a lie.

Sadly the Republican's idea of nature has more to do with conquering it. They hunt and cut down trees and promote drilling for oil, to name a few of their passions. Lisa Murkowsi has been a trouble maker before and now she is showing her lack of respect for nature and for the elderly, trees in this case. I can not fathom why anyone would even want to destroy such beauty such venerable pieces of the forest, of history. Some of these trees have been around since the 13th century. What a loss for us but also for the beauty of the planet, and the animals who live there. As always the goal is to take the biggest there are. hunters do it and greed dictates that the biggest are the best. Well, they re the best and that's why they should be left alone.

This is bad news, why the hell do these idiots want to cut down the trees, I love trees and hate to see any cut down unless deseased. Seems to me these Republican bastards do not have respect for wild life or plants or trees, all these scum think about is themselves. To get rid of any of these old trees should be a criminel offence.

This is all supposed to benefit the "Real Americans? Alaska natives are born with a reverence for their land (this is what "SEALASKA" touts on their website)! Somehow, I don' think the natives agree with what this company is doing to their forests!! They also state: "Our philosophy is to protect and grow your corporate assets!!! So, which do you think is closer to the truth here! MONEY,MONEY, the root behind all evil!!!

The Native Americans used to say that trees are the guardians of the forest. Once you have understood and been admitted by the trees the spirit world is opened to you. I believe this is so. Once you come to a point of admiration and understanding of the essential need for trees, you become aware of the spirits (creatures) whose lives are dependent upon and entwined with them. Just as the trees roots are entwined beneath the soil, so are we entwined with nature. Destroy one and you destroy us all.

Some day the earth will weep,
she will beg for her life, she will
cry with tears of blood.
You will make a choice,
if you will help her or let her die,
and when she dies, you will die too.

Wherever you walk there once was a forest.
Plant & protect Danny's trees for life......
Trees are the lungs of the earth..
