I'll be the plastic gyre in the Pacific is a major contributor. Autopsies on dead seabirds find their guts filled with undigestible plastics.

Overfishing, especially as caused non-selective fishing technologies; detergents,petro products, pharmaceuticals and other chemicals and sewage dumped in the oceans, seas and surface waters;
mercury poisoning; oil spills; global warming; and, yes, plastics, and more.

The graceful arc of a gull; the spectacular dive of a tern; the majestic beauty of frigatebird; the joyful visual comedy of pelican; the astounding stamina of the albatross; and more.

Have we lost the ability even to choose?

It does not surprise me - we can only safe our wildlife if we start cleaning up our act, air and water.
Thank you for posting.

After reading the good news about the kiwi, sad to read about the decline in the number of seabirds.

Man is killing off the animal kingdom and the environment. This is surely the end of times.
