Noted, thanks Cal. Silly me. I thought that Homeland Security, or another of the under the public radar federal organizations, have been doing this for years. When the technology became available to do so, how could any 'spy obsessed' government not resist?

Bloggers, commentators, petition signers - beware! Land (snail) mail may revive back just for the privacy. Though that may be in question too.

Everyone will now be suspect. American privacy has been eroding for years.

Why have we been treated like suspects ever since 9/11?
Our rights have been taken away in the name of 'protecting' them.
How do we protect rights we no longer have from those who are guilty of taking them? I feel like the terrorists won and are now running our government.
The religious fundamentalists are now allowed to force Americans to 'go to church or go to jail'. Isn't that what the War on Terror was supposed to prevent, having an oppressive religion-based government?

I guess they built in that area as not too many people would go there. What bothered me the most is on page seven and the information on Obama doing what he said he would not do. Well at least they will get an earful if they read all the Care2 stories and all our comments.

Can we afford this? Good old hand written letters making a comeback...

If this facility were used to stop terrorist attacks then it is something that should be welcomed as it would if it were used to disrupt serious organised crime, it could cut drug trafficking, who could complain about that. If it were used for other reasons, for instance to find out about legitimate protestors for instance then the whole thing could seem a lot less welcome.
