The Justice Department could bring a hate crime charge against George Zimmerman in the killing of Trayvon Martin if there is sufficient evidence the slaying was motivated by racial bias

There it is his father is a white retired magistrate judge. He's the one who wrote the sentinel. The shooter has a problem. dad should admit; their is omething wrong with this picture. Your son mentors one black kid; singles out another randomdly as a suspect for walking while black and putting a hoodie up in a heavy rain storm. There is going to be sanitizing here with a god father with a million dollar business and can buy influence. Cops running scared? Favors being called in. Good luck. Save my child sorry won't bring him back.
Think before you stalk.

I saw the news today saw the press conference the family had. I have trouble hearing and it was said so fast. I asked about a time line .
In the briefing; the lawyer says hurriedly that Mr.Z's phone call to the police, I am not clear on. It sounded like 3 times to me. 6:18 or 6:38 Or 6:48.
At 7:15 the call came in with the 4:15 min caller. who the lawyer says they are going over to just now interview her?

A month later. a first interview? The timeline opens up more questions. That's alot of questions? had the police called back to Z to find his whereabouts? since he gave them his cell number saying call me and I'll tell you where I am. Did they call back.
Where were they -the police-- at the time of 7:P.m?. Whatever the time frame; it is still alot of time for pursuing the young man.. What really did Mr. Z do during that time betweent the first call and were there any other.?
Mr. z did go to the hospital till the next day. There are more than one police report and will any of the 2 get lost? I don't trust police reports or the justice system..

sad situation. I tell my own how to live.and what to avoid and the courts is one of them.

I feel we are not being told so much.
This young man did not deserve to be killed regardless of what he might have done or haven't done.
From what I am understanding he was someone's child. A young man with a bright future ahead of him. He went to the store like so many of our children do everyday.
Some media outlets are reporting that Trayvon had attacked Zimmerman. If this did happen I ask was this an "attack" or was this the beginning of Trayvon defending himself. It just does not add up for me. They say Zimmerman had injuries. The injuries were not bad enough for him to seek medical assistance, but enough to take a child's life?
Whatever comes of Zimmerman I pray some good will come out of Trayvon's death. Please wake up America - stop this ridiculous hatred of different races. We need to realize this is 2012 and we are all from the human race.
I do not know if Zimmerman is racist or not. I do know he is a child killer.Lets not forget that.

Why he has not yet been arrested is beyond belief, there is so much evidence against him. How and when will there be justice for Trayvon. Thanks for posting Cal.

this will get done and the shooter will go to jail, but it is stupid. You know why? This isn't a hate crime. If the shooter was black, it wouldn't be a hate crime. Did the shooter shoot him because he was black? Really? What is worse than this, is that CNN just posted an article about an Iraqi woman living in California, who was beaten to death in her own home. There was a note found by her body saying things like "Go back to Iraq you terrorist!". That is a true hate crime and you know what, no one cares. You have a white man shoot a black man and the whole US cries racist. You have a gang kill an Iraqi woman and no one cares. You have a black man kill anyone and no one cares. The media loves to feed off of these black vs. white crimes as it brings up so many different topics from social class to racial inequality.

It certainly seems like there is evidence that it was a hate crime, so that seems appropriate.

From the moment Martin was shot, it was a hate crime. This is a given.....

He targeted the boy, followed him when told specifically to stop, this is not self defense. This stand your ground law was not intended for people to be a vigilante and hurts all of us who do the right thing. We have a right to protect ourselves, but this is not it.

Sounds like Trayvon was targeted. People have been put away for less. G. Zimmerman should be locked up with the key thrown away.

perhaps a good moment to question gun control laws too, other victims failing to catch headlines:

Doesn't Florida law specifically allow the use of lethal force if one FEELS threatened? If so how can anybody prove without reasonable doubt that someone didn't feel threatened when they kill someone without any witnesses present?
If I understand correctly drug dealers are getting away with killing their rivals and people get shot because someone didn't like how they looked at his girlfriend - all legal because the shooters felt threatened?

Do any of you really care what the law says?

And just to be clear - I would love to be wrong in this interpretation of Florida law.

I got a question. Can anyone here help me.?Let me lay the ground work. I asked for Msnbc commentators in the later shows to help me with certain questions in this case? You know they all have their way of bringing thorough in ways that I trust. I asked for help from the young turks. So ; all who did their coverage did. from zimmerman's camp comes this man who represents him. Rachel says; this is what zimmerman looks like todayshows an updated photo of Zimmerman

. On Lawrence; the info comes out about the sentinel paper showing tricks of the trade separating fact from fiction in writing articles stating something as fact without referencing why it is at fac, when it is no The woman who wrote the article danced around it by injecting her narrative of what she wanted to say that happened. Also the man from zimmerman's cmp fled the scene and noone knew why. So who really is this man and what does Zimmerman look like today? That's my question. The photo of Zimmerman that has been circulating is it him at the age he is now?
The sentinel news outlet is what was used used by his dad the retired magistrate. The police are always in contact with Z. who is Z? who is the man in the white t shirt over that 17yr old after the shooting? Once I see the 28yr old picture I will self indulge further. thx all..

We shall see what happens. I have no doubt it was a hate crime perpetrated by a power hungry, trigger happy, paranoid, gun-toting racist that's hiding behind an obviously flawed law (Stand Your Ground).
