honestly, it IS a private matter. There are woman's only clubs as well... The majority of all professional sports teams are single sex, what makes this any different?

I was born in GA. and I find this man apalling to say the very least! I watched his interview on World News With DIANE SAWYER and they asked him if he had a granddaughter and she wanted to join 'the club' what would he tell her? He simply answered; 'That's a private matter.' To that I have to say, 'to each HER own!' LOL Thnx Cal!

Until the wives withhold 50% of the dues money that are paid as their money, nothing will change for these dinosaurs.

Maybe Michelle Obama or her husband should speak out on this. Boycott the sponsors and you mighthave something also--the pressure might melt them!

To be honest, I would hate to have to hang out with those codgers. Let them keep their Boys Club--It will fade away in time eventually.

I'd LOVE to hear the discussions going on in the membership committee right now! Augusta is NOT the only private course with this rule, by the way.

It'll be interesting to see what happens.

My bet's on Ginni!

It is their golf club so they have the right to decide who to accept or not as members! How about we attack all the places that only accept women and then force them to accept men as well? If this is sexism then it must mean that every women only places are sexist too.

I think its great that these men all group together.. you know the old birds of a feather flock together, then we know who they are and where they are., and of their ideas on women..
In fairness I would not want men in my womens group nor in my spa..

Sharon, this club has MORE than enough money to do what other clubs do--put in separate lockers, dressing rooms, etc, for women and join the 21st century!

What is funny is that practically any woman on the LPGA tour could beat the crap out of these old pigs on the golf course. Nancy, where are there places where just women go, the gyno or a mammogram?

Sexism is a form of racism and it makes me angry. What this country needs LESS of is "old boys clubs".

Time for IBM to drop their sponsorship

The problem is most Southern "belles" do not mind this at all. As long as the rich husband who is a member of this exclusive club provides for her, lets her go to the spa, pays for the babysitter and the maids, makes sure she has a new car every year, etc, then he can do whatever he wants to do. Why would they care as long as they are pampered and can remain oblivious to the realities of the world outside their safe, gated communities? And, by the way, is there really an all- women's club that is not artsy-craftsy that men would be interested in joining? Some of the posters here believe there is such a thing. Maybe there really is and I'm just not aware of it.

It's time for IBM shareholders and customers to speak up!

there are more Women only summits, programs, schools, and other women only events that men except. But just when men have something for themselves there is an uproar. Be careful not to overreach and invite the hostility of other men who genuinely want equality between the sexes.
