The Department of Interior is expected to release new guidelines for fracking on public lands in the near future, which is making many in the industry a little nervous.

I think disclosing the chemicals is definitely the proper thing to do, I don't see why the government (whether they approve or not) need to disclose those chemicals to the general public.

Only a start as this process still removes water from the water cycle permanently!

I doubt the government will impose strict guidelines on fracking. I feel all government agencies are corrupt and almost always side with corporations.

If we want to breath clean air, drink clean water, eat food free of chemicals and enjoy the beauty of nature around us then a lot more people need to take the health of this planet more seriously and pressure their politicians who serve them to do likewise.

They should caravan all those industry insiders and lobbyists to the houses with the water on fire...and force them to drink up and live there for a year...showering, cooking, etc. They can trade residences for the year. There needs to be a "You proposed it, you live it first" law. I'm certain the world would be a much more livable, inhabitable place.
