Cal I'm so thankful you have posted this critical article with petition which I signed & posted to Twitter.
(Thanks to you, we’re up to 115,111signatures.)
This is genocide pure and simple by the Peruvian government and like every other 'Colonial' displacement of indigenous peoples as we have witnessed throughout history, the bottom line is always greed!
These amazing people deserve to be protected at all cost!
My heart is saddened to see so many reports on SI and in our daily news of innocent human beings very survival at risk because of greedy logging company's, oil companies etc. who want to not only bleed the land dry but cause human suffering in the process.
So my prayers are rising for the indigenous peoples in Peru and throughout the Amazon, South America and our world!

To illustrate my point as stated in the article:

"They fear the road will attract an onslaught of illegal loggers and colonists who would devastate their forest and the uncontacted Indians living there.

In an appeal to Congress, indigenous organization ORAU said, ‘Do not get carried away by a small group of legislators who want to turn the Purus into a desert’.

Puerto Esperanza’s Catholic priest Miguel Piovesan is widely considered to be the main driver behind the project."

Unethical and inhuman to eradicate two uncontacted tribes and demolish amazon/ rainforest for natural resources in favorite of foreign companies subsidies ($$$, etc) therefore, ultimately destroyed future Peruvian children fresh air, water, and land. Current Peruvian government lack of education and constant brainwash by short term greed, selfishness and corruption. In couple of years, former (current) Peruvian government family (children, parent) will resided to USA or Europe where other citizens suffers. Current Peruvian government does not plan long term risk involve. Once the resource forever gone in three to five year, jobs will become stagnate. Long term lost of habitat and lost of million of life down the road due to land erosion, flooding, etc.

If lost of animals and human life in Peru, those people involvement should brought back to trial as treason, in humanity to the people, murders in the future.

What a shame to infect these tribes with civilization. If only we would learn from them, instead of teaching them our wasteful ways.
