The legal battles have become so ubiquitious that the land trusts have been forced to set up an insurance company to help them pay the bills. The trusts typically win the cases, but which can take a decade or more to resolve, as the Times reports:

People with money -the ultra rich - ought to know they have a duty of care in helping to protect our world and its wildlife. They have been allowed to accumulate enormous riches but fail to appreciate why they have this money. It is not wholly and soley for their lavish indulgent lifestyles....... furthermore - YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU...........SO USE IT WISELY AND JUDICIOUSLY.
