Even the island's ceremonial head of state, Dame Louise Lake-Tack, is supporting the initiative. The representative of Queen Elizabeth in Antigua and Barbuda, she has no problem getting her hands dirty as she seeks to boost food production in the country.

Thanks for the good news ~ Antiqua has many low income people who will benifit from backyard gardens. We could use more of them in the U.S. as well.

An excellent idea, what took them so long? i would imagine all the produce that is brought in from other areas would be super expensive.

i read some parts of America are not allowed to garden? if it's their property, why not?! kids could learn a lot. we come from the earth.

Thanks Cal for the great article. Read and noted. I work the UU church's plot in the community garden here and twice week I go to my Brother's farm to work my small plot and in their garden so I get fresh veggies and because I help them they can some for me to use during the winter months. A good deal as far as I'm concerned.
