There was a report from Al Jazeera TV that Assad fired rockets into Lebanon. They were conventional from what I understand. They were fired into refugee camps of fleeing Syrians. I did not hear what the damage was.

I wouldn't put anything past Bashar al-Assad since he's a madman that is capable of ordering any number of atrocities to be committed against anybody that opposes him or his dictatorial regime.

Robert, some people live under the motto of "I will die tomorrow, but you today". In this avenue, applying chemicals against one's enemies fits perfectly.

Are there any moderate Muslims to go to Syrian to mediate the conflict? Moderate Muslims, where are you?

I wouldn't put this sort of thing past Assad, considering what has come to pass over the past number of months. But. Considering how this all went down with Saddam and his WMD's, I'd be VERY cautious about making too long of a jump to any conclusions.

it is the so called one-and-only-democracy-in-the-Middle-East:

Saddam gassed Kurds, why would Assad refrain from gassing his opponents? They like humanity pretty much the same.
