TURKEY: Caught Between Syria's Kurds and a Hard Spot

- In a display of muscle-flexing, Turkish tanks this week carried out military exercises on the Syrian border, just a few kilometres away from towns that Syrian Kurds had seized from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces.

al Assad will not be deterred in his actions by Turkey or anyone else..this whole thing is atrocious, and with so much on the line, all players seem to be drawing their lines in the sand, so to speak.
I hope an end to Assads lunacy come's before more pay the ultimate price for it...*sigh
Thanks Cal

Sadly Al Assad and others have taken their own personal views and carried those out instead of what is good for the people. Now everything is such a spider web of a mess that to untangle it may take to long and the people are going to suffer

Thanks Cal for posting the IPS article by Dorian Jones. Turkey is sandwiched in that is for sure and I hope the experts are right when they predict that Ankara will not pursue a military action. Read and sadly noted

If ever there was a people who deserved a state it is the Kurds.

When will war no longer be one of the solutions?

Turkey has never acknowledged the Armenian Genocide in Van. Turkey has never retreated from the invasion of the Island of Cyprus.

I wish the Kurdish people well. I know very little, am pretty ignorant, but I have long heard of the suffering they have gone through. War makes for a heavy heart.
