Cree Prophecy:
When all the trees have been cut down,
When all the animals have been hunted,
When all the waters are polluted,
When all the air is unsafe to breathe,
Only then will you discover
You cannot eat money.

I must say that it is impressive to watch the obsessive compulsive behavior of myopic, puerile, supposedly grown-up men in their avaricious quest for this resource. The covetous lust is so great that they will sacrifice anything including the very planet they and we live on as long as they can make a buck. They do realize I hope that Kansas is centerd on the Middle American plate that connects into the New Madrid and subsequently the Puerto Rican trench? The sad part is that most of this resource will be sold overseas and will not benefit the average American yet will leave the American taxpayer with a huge clean-up bill and a severely endangered environment. WTG Big Oil and our local political whores.

Gee, too bad even if they get water, by the time they're done it will catch fire and burn as it comes out of our faucets. FRACKING IS EVIL FRACKING IS BAD. FRACKING IS GREEDY. AND!!!!! WE WERE PROMISED ALTERNATIVE FUELS NOT MORE GOD DAMNED OIL.

Why doesn't this suprise me. Oil companies will do anything and everything for profit. I cannot understand how they could abuse a basic need like water. Disgusting.

Darn, I am feeling so bad for them right now.The sad thing is they will try to drain every drop they can get no matter how it affects the people, land or animals.

Common everyone, these are our reasons/motivations to keep on fighting for this mother earth, and for a greener planet for our children and grandchildren. Don't get all negative on me now, things like these will become less and less common, so long as "20,056,500 members keep on doing good!" (and growing)

can't they just put on the Ruby Slippers, click their heels and get the oil out of Kansas?

The government needs to crack down on these greedy oil companies that will eventually kill the earth and the people and animals on it. They have gotten away with too much in the past and think they can continue to do whatever they want.

They keep taking more and more. I think they take more than they give. What they give back is polluted or damaged.

Awful! Farmers' crops are dying for lack of water and these a--holes want water for fracking! Food, not fracking!

Humanity should just say no to fracking. We need to switch to appropriate renewable energy.

Now if you ad in their safety lie that the water and toxic chemicals used in Fracking are in sealed wells and not returned to the aquifer, most of the water that they use is removed from the water cycle.
Also in Jan. 2012 the Frackers were already using 40% of all the ground water in Texas.

Am I missing something - how 'worth it'' is it to use up all of our precious water to get oil? You cannot drink oil. YOu cannot grow food w/out water. Animals need water, not oil. We really need to cut our dependence on oil. We have smart people here in the US. Can't SOMEONE figure this out? Alternative fuels/energy. These people are killing everything including the human race. Watch the wells run dry. And our streams too with all of the bottled water being sucked up. Honestly - this is getting really old really fast.
