Signed and noted.. How heartbreaking! I just can't see how people could witness this and not see the cruelty that is going on.. There really is NO justification for this now that the world has scientific evidence of how intelligent creatures like this can suffer from being kept like this.. HORRIBLE!! GRRRR!!!!!

An elephant that has been living in our zoo for 50 years is at the "hospice" stage. I thought that was such a long time to be on display. The elephant has now retreated to a private portion of it's habitat, and they are respecting it's choice. Surely they care for this animal, but, maybe at the least these attractions could release the animals to a more humane sanctuary after a time, so they can experience a more natural life.

It's good we have realized that animals need to be free:).

Signed and noted, Thank you Cal.

S & N! this is absurd!!! There is absolutely no room for this animal to move period. This sounds like something that would take place in a third world country but then again Miami is the city of sleaze!

You have put this whale in prison, made her do dumb pet tricks, made money off her back, and had her do everything that is unnatural to her for no solid reason. Would you like her death on your hands as well??? I abhor seaquariums! Noted and Signed with disgust!!

Keiko..who unfortunately died in December 2003..He was only 26 years old.. Despite efforts to integrate him with wild killer whales in Iceland towards the end of his life..he proved unable to interact with them or find food..And just could not survive the wilds any longer..

"While we as humans might find it appealing to free a long-term captive animal," the researchers say in the paper, "the survival and well-being of the animal may be severely impacted in doing so." The only cetaceans that have successfully been returned to the wild have been young and only kept in captivity for short periods."

It is awful that they take these creatures away from the only place they love and know..But its also unfair to Lolita to now be released Keiko she would not know how to survive out there and would most likely die..
They should give her a larger place to live out the rest of her life in..

Thanks Cal..

How sad and heartbreaking to be alone, without your own kind for years and years. The poor thing is probably suffering from a mental illness or depression. Stupid humans!!!! Anything for a buck. These people should be charged with a crime. The mental and physical torture we 7 billion humans force on the animal kingdom of the Earth. We should ALL be punished...... poor majestic creature, my heart goes out to it.......:(

Signed, but I am afraid she is not going to be able to interact with other orcas and wont be able to find food, she had been in prision for so long time I am sure she forgot how to survive on her own, hopefully they will give her a better place to stay, but I am notr sure if to free her will be good after so long period of abuse.
