Development in national parks must comply with environmental laws to protect air, water, wildlife, and public health. Do not let politicians influenced by the oil and gas industry threaten these laws.

Ty Cal...very important we must protect and preserve ALL our Parks, Forests and Public Lands...federal, state and local. . .they are under constant siege by the marauding Robber Barons and their loyal subjects who are just waiting to wreak their usual havoc and mayhem.

“There is nothing so American as our national parks. The scenery and the wildlife are native. The fundamental idea behind the parks is native. It is, in brief, that the country belongs to the people, that it is in process of making for the enrichment of the lives of all of us. The parks stand as the outward symbol of the great human principle.” ― U.S. Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt

"If in a given community unchecked popular rule means unlimited waste and destruction of the natural resources—soil, fertility, waterpower, forests, game, wild-life generally—which by right belong as much to subsequent generations as to the present generation, then it is sure proof that the present generation is not yet really fit for self-control, that it is not yet really fit to exercise the high and responsible privilege of a rule which shall be both by the people and for the people. The term “for the people” must always include the people unborn as well as the people now alive, or the democratic ideal is not realized." — U.S. Pres. Theodore Roosevelt

"A nation that destroys it's soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people." — U.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt

“The conservation of natural resources is the fundamental problem. Unless we solve that problem it will avail us little to solve all others” ―U.S. Pres. Theodore Roosevelt

I should say - we can help by using less oil and gas, and persuading our friends to do likewise. And we can join local and national cycle advocacy groups, to get more sustainable transport happening.

The last paragraph of the petition says it so nicely: "Development in national parks must comply with environmental laws to protect air, water, wildlife, and public health. Do not let politicians influenced by the oil and gas industry threaten these laws. Please sign this petition to ensure that our national parks remain drill free sites for many years to come."

Signed and noted. Thanks, Cal!
