Dozens of protesters rushed the gates of Marineland on Sunday demanding an end to what they called the abuse of whales, dolphins and other animals at the amusement park, but the situation was quickly brought under control, police and organizers said.

Thanks Cal for the link to the article. Kudos to the protesters and the organizing groups. All Sea parks and zoos with cages should be eliminated through non-violent protest and passage of legislation. Read and noted.

What happens to marine animals once the facility is closed down? Can they just be returned to the oceans? Will they survive once they have been in captivity for too long. I don't people think enough.

Thanks for sharing this article. Great to hear that so many showed up to let Marineland know that the truth on them is out & won't be tolerated.

There is no reason for this place to stay open if they can't keep the animals healthy.

It would be worth giving the animals a chance of freedom even though some might not be able to adjust and meet their demise in the ocean.. To do this act of kindness to our fellow mammals would definately be worth getting arrested over. There are some laws that are beyond those of mere humans. What if no one chose to break the law and protest over the right to vote, for civil liberties. etc.

Have always hated this place, it is not a teaching place but a place of torture. Disgusting. Have written to the premier for his to have it an other private zoos closed.

Good for those that do something about what they believe in, especially if the animals are being exploited.
