This is going to be a tough battle. They have already started construction on the southern part of the pipeline, including using eminent domain in Texas for a FOREIGN OWNED company (TransCanada) to seize land from landowners.

Obama is very likely to cave on this as he seems to think exploiting domestic oil & gas is a good solution to our energy problems, despite the fact that most of the gas from fracking will be exported just as will the oil from the Keystone Pipeline. We are just helping these companies get richer and increasing our risk from climate change.

Noted, thanks, Cal. Now that the election's over, maybe we who want to protect the environment will have a bit more clout in getting the attention of our Pres. Just today, Petraeus, the head of the CIA resigned; and many others are leaving the White House as well. I'm hoping Obama will allow more progressive voices inside his next administration, but we have to continue to harness People Power while also continuing to keep those nasty "outside voices" of the Corporate world and FuxNoise pundits from re-taking the conversation.
