Instead of trying to fight the racism evidenced by educational gaps, Florida will institute different standards for black, white students.

In other words Florida schools are going to do there best to make sure minority children will be dumber then whites by keeping them at a lower standard so they don't have to actually teach them. Whats next not teaching them at all.

I join with the others on this list. WTF? It is obvious that education is lacking in the Florida school board. The approach or view of how to teach is skewed in so many ways I cannot began to list them.

I despair for America.

The message that this gives to black students is that they are not as smart or capable as white students. It also tells the white students that they are Superior to black students. It tells employers that a white applicant will be able to learn their job better. The ramifications by this action will ripple out through the community.

When are Americans going to realize that there is only one race and that is human.

What are the qualifications of the members of this board of education? There must be someone who has had some training.

Shame on these people!

They might as well be saying, "You get a break, because you're inferior." Worse yet, this is their excuse to continue the inequality of opportunity that is causing the imbalance.

So, Jensenism is rearing its ugly head again.
It is the theory that an individual's IQ is largely related to heredity, including race.
I had a professor, in the '70's, who simply gave all her black students c's, explaining, when called on it that that was all one could expect from them, based on her understanding of Jensenism. And, she was the chairperson of the "Human Development" division!

I suspect Alabama and Mississippi will soon follow. It goes like this: once black children are "proved" to be poorer leaners, the state can be justified in sending them all to separate schools, where they can get "special help". And since have such a hard time reading restaurant menus, maybe they should have their own eateries. And of course they can't do simple math, so they should be relegated to menial, low-paying jobs instead of OUR jobs. Sound familiar? Been there, done that. We spent the 1950's and 1960's getting out of that mess. Maybe we should let all these sore-loser states secede. They don't seem very interested in the Constitution the rest of us thought was a good idea.
